Tourism Talks first happened in 2014, during the Heritage Fair that occured to enhance the visibility of tourism activity in Portugal,
namely with the presence of several professionals interested in discussing important matters aiming to Improve the cultural-touristic
sector.
Undertaken in partnership with the Turismo de Portugal, the governmental institute in Portugal responsable for the tourism sector,
this first event was about “Digitalization of Tourism and Heritage” and was headed to entrepreneurs and small touristic entreprises
in order to bring them the motivation to implement digital business strategies based on heritage.
The Tourism Talks Pro 2014 took place in the Creativity and Arts Plataform, held in the 10th of october – the first day of the event,
between 14h30 and 18h30. The 43 participants scored the program with na average of 4 points and with very positive comments.
The second edition, named as Tourism Talks Pro 2015, happened, once again during the Heritage Fair, for a whole afternoon in the
auditorium of the Interpretative Center of the Monastery of Santa Clara-a-Velha, with full capacity for 55 people; the theme was:
“Creative and Cultural Tourism: Inovate in the Product, Inovate in the Management”.
Considering the 2019 Iberian Biennial theme – Sustainability – it seems to us that for the Tourism Talks Pro 2019, the topic “Heritage,
Tourism, Sustainability and Innovation”, results in a coherent, updated and creative way for everyone in the field, such as the ones
already working in touristic projects or those still preparing ideas.
