Iberian Heritage Awards

Presented by patrimonio.pt, the IBERIAN HERITAGE AWARDS acknowledge good practices in the Iberian Cultural Heritage sector, awarding projects and entities.

In Portugal, the IBERIAN HERITAGE AWARDS are presented at the AR&PA Iberian Biennial of Cultural Heritage
every two years. Angra do Heroismo (Azores - Portugal) will host the 2023 edition.

CATEGORIES

  • Best Mediation Project
    It includes projects that bring Cultural Heritage closer to the public – in a completely open way - through the scheduled action of heritage mediators and educators who have actively promoted inclusive participation and social and intellectual accessibility of the community or specific target audiences.

  • Best Communication Strategy
    It includes projects that have developed and implemented innovative and efficient Communication and/or fundraising strategies concerning Cultural Heritage.

  • Best Partnership Project
    It includes networking activities and projects with the common goal of studying, spreading, and valuing Portuguese Cultural Heritage within a national and/or international framework. Minimum of two partners.

  • Best Cultural Touring Project
    It includes projects that created initiatives to design and implement cultural and heritage tourism itineraries in particular territories.

  • Special 2023: Best Project in Heritage Technology
    Special 2023 prize regarding the theme of this year's Biennial. In 2023. It will be awarded to projects that bring new technological trends closer to Cultural Heritage through innovative mediation strategies with technology

  • Heritage Award Património **
    The award acknowledges the project, event, or initiative that stood out in the last two years for its social value and contribution to enhancing the cultural heritage of the Iberian Peninsula. Any of the above categories may be included.
